When You're at Your Worst
Feb 18, 2023What do you do when you want to be your best, but you're feeling like you're at your worst?
I know I've had these moments before where I was sick, I made mistakes, I was irresponsible, I snapped at someone, or I said something I knew I shouldn't have. We've all been there, right? But we're human, we need to give ourselves grace, and we can learn from the ways that we behaved so we can continue our journey towards our best, most aligned self.
Sometimes, there are times when people need us, but we aren't at our best. So what can you do?
- Give yourself some grace. When you realize you're not alone and everyone struggles, you can give yourself grace. When you give yourself grace, you accept reality the way it is without shaming or hating yourself. Forgive yourself and the situations.
- Speak positively to yourself. If you speak negatively to yourself, you're not going to get out of the negative spiral you're in. You need to lift yourself up with positivity. Incorporate affirmations and motivational podcasts/books/videos into your days. Work on your personal development.
- Keep your word to yourself. When you keep your word to yourself, you trust and respect yourself more. When you consistently do this, you will start to feel better and lift yourself up.
- Talk to others and share your feelings. Do not suffer in silence. When you reach out to others, you're not venting or dumping on them. You're sharing your feelings, asking for advice, and letting people know you need help. Connect with others vulnerably, and you'll see you're not alone.
- Get into a new environment. Find a way to surround yourself with others who are on a similar journey as you, so they can be there for you and cheer you on along the way.
Keep moving forward, one step at a time. The future holds good things for you, so don't give up on yourself.
Hope that left you satisfied and smiling [that's what she said],
