Self-Discipline
Mar 13, 2023Have you declared that you have self-discipline? Have you claimed it?
How can you confidently say "I am self-disciplined"?
- Claim self-discipline: adopt it as part of your identity. Decide this is who you are and how you show up in the world.
- Targets: we have a goal, plan, and reward. You're aiming at a target, because we have a plan, and when you achieve it, you get a reward. Even if it's a difficult goal or a longterm goal, you need to connect to your goal each morning in order to set your intentions for the day. Be strategic about your day, otherwise you'll wander off your path and away from your targets/goals. Be proactive, not reactive.
- Temptations: What are your temptations? How do you avoid them? How can you set yourself up for success each day? Find ways to ensure that you are staying on track with what is aligned with what you want and who you are. By avoiding temptations and distractions, you can stick with your plans and can get so much more done.
Check in with your behaviors and habits, evaluate how they are impacting you, your relationships, your growth, and your sense of meaning and fulfillment in your life.
When you have a strong "why" in your life, it's easier for you to have self-discipline, because you're so connected to what you want and will be disciplined to get there.
If you want to have a long, healthy, joyous life, work on your self-discipline so you're not robbing your future self!
