How will you show up this week?
Jan 16, 2023Are you showing up each day grateful or grumpy?
If you're grumpy, then you:
- Could be sleep-deprived or burnt out (physically and/or emotionally). Exhaustion is something you can fix...unless you have a new baby or puppy, or you're in a busy season at work. But this should only be temporary. Here are some things you can do: prioritize your sleep, ensure that you're recovering properly, give your eyes a break every hour if you're on a computer all day, etc..
- Feel like you're being forced to do something (for example: I don't want to make those phone calls, I don't want to prepare these reports, I don't want to take my friend to the airport in traffic, etc.).
We could be viewing these types of tasks or situations as meaningless obligations. If you keep stewing on them, it'll make you grumpy, angry, jaded, or resentful.
Remember: how you view things in your life is a choice.
You could also choose to be grateful, where you recognize good opportunities, and where you see that things happening to you are really happening for you.
- Reflect on the positive things in your life.
- Shift your perspective and find the good in tasks.
- Don't view things as a forced obligation.
What are you grateful for this week? What obstacle can you turn into an opportunity? How can you find meaning in your tasks?
Create a plan for the week and journal about how you want to show up each day!
Hope that left you satisfied and smiling [that's what she said],
